Sharing the meal with the helper who prepares it🥘🥪🍳
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“When your servant/helper brings your meal to any one of you, then if you do not make him sit with you, you should at least give him a morsel or two or a bite or two as he is the one who [prepared it].”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2557, 5460 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1663)
1️⃣ When the helper has endured the heat and smoke of preparing one’s meal, one should take into consideration their feelings by giving them a share.
2️⃣ Helpers usually cannot afford what we have.
3️⃣ When one possesses something that others may be envious of, then one should not piblicise it. Further, it should be shared with those who are aware of it.
4️⃣ Practicing on this Hadith will insha Allah repel the evil eye.

🕌The Latecomer should join the Imam without delay
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) is reported to have said: “Whoever [comes for congregational Salah] and finds me in ruku’, sajdah or in the standing posture, should join me in the posture that I am in.”(Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah,2616)
1️⃣ This Hadith advises the latecomer to immediately join the Salah, no matter which posture the Imam is in.
2️⃣ One should therefore, not delay or wait for the Imam to stand up for the next rak’ah before joining the Salah.
3️⃣ Although one will be required to repeat the rak’ah if one joins after ruku’, one will still be rewarded for the additional sajdahs.
4️⃣ Each sajdah yeilds 1 reward, sheds 1 sin & raises one’s rank in the Hereafter.(Sunan Ibn Majah, hadith:1424)
5️⃣ One should be eager to join the Salah as soon as possible. It’s our key to Jannah.

The formula for safety from fitnah ✅
Sayyiduna ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that he met Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) and asked him:“How will I be saved (from sin/fitnah/punishment/destruction etc.)?”Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) replied:
1️⃣ Control your tongue,
2️⃣ Let your home be spacious enough for you, and
3️⃣ Cry over your sins.

🌐 Earthquakes are a major wake-up call 🌐
Shahr ibn Hawshab (rahimahullah) says, “There was an earthquake in Madinah during the time of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
’Allah Ta’ala wants that you adopt goodness and piety and that you repent, so do so.’
(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 8420)
🚑The recent devastating earthquakes that occurred in Turkiye & Syria are indeed reminders from Almighty Allah for us to repent and change our ways.
🏥Death on such a large scale should terrify every believer and be more than sufficient for him/her to take heed and reform his/her life.
⏱️If after hearing about the current crisis, one did not repent and reform in some way, then the tragedy is worse!
🕌 In addition to financial aid, one should at at least offer 2 rak’ahs nafl salah, make tawbah (repent) and make earnest du’a for our fellow suffering Muslim brothers and sisters.
Let’s feel the pain of the Ummah.
📿 One should also endeavour to draw nearer to the sunnah way of life, as that is our only way of salvation.
🤲🏼 May Allah Ta’ala protect the Ummah at large from all sorts of calamities, and may Allah alleviate the suffering of all those affected with calamity throughout the globe.

📖 Reciting Quran Sharif & discharging of Zakah in Sha’ban 💰
Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:
“When Sha’ban would commence, the Muslims would devote themselves to the recital of the Quran. They would also pay the Zakah due on their wealth, to support [enable] the feeble and poor to fast in Ramadan.”
(Lataiful Ma’arif, pg. 242 & Fathul Bari, hadith:7338)
💡 Additional recital of Quran during Sha’ban enables one to benefit to the maximum during Ramadan.
Whilst calculating one’s Zakat in this month also frees up the time one would’ve spent doing so during Ramadan.
🤲🏼 May Allah Ta’ala grant us the tawfiq of emulating the illustrious Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) in all matters. Amin.

📈 Keeping up the momentum in Shawwal
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:
“Whoever observes the fast of Ramadan and follows it up with six [fasts] in Shawwal will be [rewarded] as if he has fasted the entire year.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1164)
💡 The Commentators have explained that since every deed is multiplied ten times, by fasting in Ramadan we are actually rewarded for 300 days and not just 30. Therefore if we follow that up with six more we will be rewarded for sixty thereby attaining the reward of fasting for 360 days. 🗓️
➡️ Hafiz Ibn Rajab Al-Hambali (rahimahullah) writes:
“…the reward of fasting in Shawwal will be linked to the reward of Ramadan, and one who observes the Shawwal fast will receive the reward of observing the fard fast for the whole year. This is how Imam ‘Abdullah Ibnul Mubarak (rahimahullah) explained the issue.” (Lataiful Ma’arif, pg.314-315)
Among the reasons for fasting these six in Shawwal specifically:
1️⃣So that one does not delay in accruing this grand reward.
2️⃣It’s easier to fast these six days immediately after Ramadan.
3️⃣These fasts make up for the deficiencies in our Ramadan fasts.
(Al-Mufhim, vol. 3 pg. 238; Fathul Mulhim, vol. 5 pg. 328-Dar al-Qalam and Mirqat, vol. 4 pg. 477)

Showing true respect for ‘Ulama
Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (may Allah protect him) mentioned the following incident:
➡️ I once visited Mufti Mahmudul Hasan Gangohi (rahimahullah) while he was in Madinah Munawwarah. It was after ‘Asr Salah. As the time for Maghrib drew near, an attendant (khadim) enquired from Mufti saheb if he wanted to make wudu and prepare for salah.
Mufti Mahmud saheb (rahimahullah) replied:
‘How can I sit in the company of this ‘Alim without wudu?!’
📌 Shaykh ‘Awwamah comments:
‘I am not worthy of this, but look at the respect that Mufti saheb had for an ‘Alim.’
💡 Moral
When visiting ‘Ulama, we should be presentable, and ensure that we are in the state of wudu. The Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) would also aspire to be in the state of purity (taharah) when meeting Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam). (Sahih Bukhari)
🧴It is also recommended to apply a good scent when attending their gatherings.
(Fathul Bari)

🕌 The great virtues of performing Salatud Duha
Salatud Duha is a nafl Salah that is to be performed at mid-morning.
Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) himself offered this Salah and encouraged the Ummah to do the same.
There are many virtues for this salah, among them is the following comprehensive Hadith:
Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:
“Whosoever offers 2️⃣ rak’ahs of Salatud Duha (Chasht) will not be counted among the indolent.
One who offers 4️⃣ rak’ahs is counted among the devotees.
One who offers 6️⃣ rak’ahs, his needs for the day are taken care of.
The one who offers 8️⃣ rak’ahs is recorded among the content ones.
The one who offers 1️⃣2️⃣, Allah will build a house for him in Jannah.”
(Al Mu’jamul Kabir; Majma’uz Zawaid, 2/237 & Targhib + Fathul Bari)

🕋 The great virtues of performing Hajj
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then said:
1️⃣ When you leave home intending Hajj:
A good deed is written down for you and one sin is forgiven for every stride your camel takes.
2️⃣ For the two rak’ahs after tawaf:
The reward shall be as you have freed one Arab slave.
3️⃣ For Sa’i between Safa and Marwah:
The reward is like that of freeing 70 slaves.
4️⃣ For your stay in ‘Arafah:
Allah’s [Mercy] descends to the lower Heaven. He boasts to the angels, saying: “I have forgiven all of your sins as well as those whom you intercede on behalf of.”
5️⃣ When stoning the jamarah:
For every stone that you throw, one [major] sin is pardoned.
6️⃣ The reward for sacrificing an animal:
This is stored by your Rabb.
7️⃣ When shaving your head:
One good deed and one sin is wiped off for each hair.
8️⃣ When performing Tawafuz Ziyarah:
Not a single sin remains upon you. An Angel says: “Now you may recommence your deeds, all your previous sins are forgiven.”
(Musnad Bazzar; Kashful Astar, Hadith: 1082)
