Shaykh ‘Awwamah’s (hafizahullah) love for the Sunnah
Shaykh ‘Awwamah’s son, Dr Muhyuddin (hafizahullah), writes:
“My respected father continuously encouraged his family in the home to adopt the various Sunnahs of Nabiy (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam). He encourages them by saying that these Sunnahs create closeness and love for Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) and being laxed in the Sunnah is a result of hardheartedness, and it distances a person from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam).
Among the Sunnahs that my respected father was very particular about, are the following:
1. Keeping the pants above the ankles.
2. Covering the head.
3. Offering the Sunnah Salah before and after the Fard Salah.
4. Offering the Fard Salah in congregation.
5. Doing every good thing with the right.
6. Spreading the Salam.
7. In the month of Ramadan, he would emphasise the offering of [20 rakats] Tarawih Salah for even the juniors.

The intrinsic link between the Quran Karim and Hadith Sharif
The following is an abstract in which Muhaddithul ‘Asr, ‘Allamah Binnoriy (rahimahullah) illustrates that the Quran and the Hadith are inseparable, contrary to the ideology of Hadith rejection:
There is absolutely no possibility that the Holy Quran and Hadith Sharif can be separated from each other, nor is it possible to believe in the Holy Quran and reject the Hadith Sharif.
The reason for this is that the Holy Quran repeatedly expresses the fact that salvation lies in following Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) and disobeying him leads to destruction and ruin. The Quran Sharif gives the most severe warnings against opposing Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam), whilst it promotes his lifestyle as a model and example for the Ummah.
The Quran Karim has mandated Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) to teach, interpret and explain the Quran [i.e., in the form of the Hadith Sharif]. The result is that salvation, happiness, and prosperity in this world and the Hereafter lies in following [the Hadith of] Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam).
Furthermore, the true measure of love and obedience to Allah Ta’ala is solely in adherence to the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam):
قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿٣١﴾
Say, “If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will then love you and forgive your sins. And Allah is most forgiving, most merciful.
(Surah: Alu ‘Imran, Verse: 31)
(Basa-ir wa ‘Ibar, Vol. 1, Pg. 129-130)

The most beloved people and deeds in the sight of Allah Ta’ala
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) related that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was asked:
“O Messenger of Allah, which of the people are most beloved to Allah, and which deeds are most beloved to Allah?”
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The people most beloved to Allah are those who are most beneficial to the people; and the most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or remove one of his troubles, or to fulfill his debt, or to satiate his hunger…”
(Qada-ul Hawaij, Hadith: 36)
📝 The current widespread suffering of Muslims and non Muslims throughout the globe presents abundant opportunity to practice on the above.
May Allah Ta’ala bless us all with the tawfiq to do so.

The du’a Jibril (‘alayhis salam) brought to recite upon the sick
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) once visited him while he was ill. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked him, “Should I not recite the supplication that Jibril (‘alayhis salam) brought to me?” He replied, “Certainly! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ، وَاللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ، مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ فِيكَ، مِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
Transliteration: Bismillahi arqika wallahu yashfika min kulli da-in yu-dhika wa min sharrin naffathati fil ‘uqadi wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad
Translation:
In the name of Allah, I perform Ruqyah for you, Allah will cure you from every illness afflicting you, and from the evil of those who blow on knots [practice witchcraft] and the evil of an envious person when he envies.
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3524, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2, pg. 446, Hadith: 9757)
