Sayyidah ‘Aishah (radiyallahu’anha) said: ‘Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) would be engaged in the Dhikr of Allah, all the time.’ (Sahih Muslim)

The life of a true believer is always centered around Allah Ta’ala and His Messenger (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam).

Hazrat Moulana Haroon Abasoomar saheb (rahimahullah) had the Noble habit of being engaged in the Dhikr of Allah as much as possible. This included: reciting the masnun du’as for the various occasions, the tilawah (recital) of Quran e Majid as well as other general forms of tasbih, tahlil, istighfar & other Dhikrs.

Whilst driving his car, he would mostly engage in Quran recital. If not, then he would be reciting Dhikr on his counter. All his life, Hazrat (rahimahullah) always had a Dhikr counter in his pocket. If for some reason he could not find his counter, he would get very perturbed.

When waiting for the Iqamah before Salah, or when in a queue, or sitting unengaged in anything particular, he ensured not to let those moments pass without Dhikr. Inside his home, he had several counters for use at different parts of the house.

Whilst waiting for food, after Salah, or even whilst on his bed he would have the counter in his hand.

At the end of his life, during the dialysis sessions, or whilst being taken in his wheelchair to visit the sick patients in the hospital, he would also ensure to have his counter on his finger.

Hazrat (rahimahullah) was indeed a great ‘Dhaakir’ (one who remembers) Allah Ta’ala.

In fact, he impressed this on the little children of his family as well. When he would hear them singing nursery rhymes or uttering useless sentences, he would instruct them as well, to rather make Dhikr, or recite Durud sharif.  He would explain to them the incentive of Dhikr being a means of acquiring trees in Jannah.

Hazrat (rahimahullah) had the habit of reciting the masnun du’as for different occasions audibly, as a reminder to those around him. He would also do the same when replying to the Adhan, whilst ensuring everyone remained silent.

May Allah Ta’ala grant Hazrat Moulana (rahimahullah) the highest of stages in Jannah, & inspire us to increase our remembrance of Allah.
