Admirable traits of a Muslim Trader 👌🏽

Hadhrat Jabir (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“May Allah Ta’ala have mercy on the one who is gentle at the time of selling, buying and requesting payment.”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 2076)

💎 Morals 💎
1⃣ SubhanAllah! What a grand position of honour for those who are considerate and gentle when buying, selling or requesting payment!

2⃣ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) made a special dua [of mercy] for them and his dua is accepted without doubt.

3⃣ If this had been the only virtue, it would have been more than enough. However, apart from this, the businessman will also be rewarded for his gentleness and consideration.

4⃣ If traders apply this principle in their business, not only will they gain the dua of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), but they will also please their customers and see their businesses flourish. Customers will return to them…

5⃣ When a person follows Shariat of Islam, he enjoys an honourable life with ease and comfort and secures the benefits of both the worlds.

This noble trait of gentleness when dealing with others is quickly leaving the Ummah! Let’s take note and inculcate it, thereby inspiring others

How to have Tawakkul ⚖

Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:
I heard Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) saying:
*’If you all depend on Allah with due reliance, He will certainly give you provision as He gives it to birds; who go forth hungry in the morning and return with full bellies at dusk.”
(Sunan Tirmidhi,2344, Sunan Ibn Majah,4164, Musnad Ahmad,1/30,52)
Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic.
Lessons 👌🏽
There are 2 main points in this Hadith:
1⃣ The encouragement of placing trust on Allah (tawakkul) as He is the sole provider.
2⃣ This Hadith says: be like the birds who leave in the morning
Thus illustrating that to leave the home for a livelihood is not against tawakkul.

✍🏼 One should do whatever is within one’s means, but have complete reliance on Allah’s decision.

The best days for sadaqah, & all other nafl deeds

Rasulullah ﷺ said:
‘There are no other days in which Allah loves good deeds more than on these [10] days.’
(Sahih Bukhari)

Nabi ﷺ actually labelled these days as: ‘The best days in the world.’
(Musnad Bazzar)

All Deeds are most beloved to Allah on these days ⚡
During this time of the year, any good deed one does, is most loved by Allah ﷻ‬‎ ; be that even a deed as easy as a subhanallah or one penny spent in charity.

One should put on his/best behaviour during these days too…
There is no better time in the whole year to do good than these blessed days [and nights], other than on Laylatul Qadr. Let’s make the most of it.

Rizq is only from Allah

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“I know a verse in the Quran which will suffice people’s needs if they all accept it and act accordingly:

ومن يتق الله يجعل له مخرجا ويرزقه من حيث لا يحتسب

“And whoever fears Allah Ta’ala, for him shall Allah Ta’ala create an exit [from problems] and provide sustenance from unexpected sources”.
(Sunan Ibn Majah,4220 & Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan,6669)

Lesson
👌🏽When doing business, we are sometimes faced with the temptation of cheating/speaking lies etc with the hope of increasing our earnings.
At moments like those, this ⬆Hadith should inspire us to refrain.

Sustained through the ‘barakah’ of our dependants 💎👥

Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports:
“There were two brothers during the time of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). One of them regularly came to visit Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) [to learn], while the other used to work. One day the working brother complained to Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) about his brother [who did not work]. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied:
“[You complain to me about him not doing anything.] Perhaps you are receiving your sustenance [rizq] because of him.”
(Sunan Tirmidhi, 2345)

Moral 👌🏽
There are several Hadiths like the above.
💡Rizq is only from Allah.
Allah Ta’ala chooses the reasons for which He blesses us. Sometimes, it could be due to the needs of our dependants, or because of our generosity to others who are closer to Allah, than ourselves..
💡The expenses of our dependants should never be viewed as burdens. Allah Ta’ala is the Sole Provider.
🤲🏼 May Allah Ta’ala grant us all, barakah & contentment.

💰 Profit doesn’t necessarily equal Barakah ⚖

Sayyiduna Hakim ibn Hizam (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
’…If the buyer & seller spoke the truth [regarding the price, for example] & explained [any defects in the goods sold], they will be blessed in their sale. And if they speak lies and conceal defects, they will probably earn profit but will destroy the blessings of their sale.’
(Sahih Bukhari,2114 & Sahih Muslim,1532 with variation in the wording)

Moral 👌🏽
Deceit, lies & fraud are not worth the trouble, even they fetch higher profits.
Don’t get tempted with the apparent potential for profit, if it entails deception. Such profit will have zero barakah.

Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam said:
‘Engage in trade, for nine tenths of sustenance is found therein.’
(Sunan Sa’id ibn Mansur; Takhrijul Ihya,1588)

💎💎💎💎
Trade & Business have potential for lots of barakah, when conducted within the rules of Islam.
🤲🏼 May Allah Ta’ala grant all of us, from His treasures.

Land Appropriation

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) is reported to have said:
‘Whoever usurps a handspan of land unjustly will [be punished] on the day of Qiyaamah, with a collar made from the seven earths being chained/yoked around his neck.’
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2452 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1610)

Moral
Sometimes one feels appeased with usurping the wealth of others. Remember, it will never be left the unpunished.
Feeling a sense of victory might bring temporary satisfaction, but ultimately Allah is fully aware of all our deeds; the good and the bad. He will definitely deal with the wrong doers.

The Effect of Haram on our Du’as

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“O people, indeed Allah Ta’ala is Pure and accepts only that which is pure. Allah Ta’ala has commanded the believers with the same command that He gave to the Ambiya (‘alayhimus salam). Allah Ta’ala has said: “O Messengers, consume that which is pure and wholesome and perform righteous actions. Indeed I am all aware with what you do.” Allah Ta’ala has mentioned: “O believers, consume from the pure and wholesome foods that We have provided for you.”

Thereafter, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) explained the condition of a person who had undertook a long, arduous journey. His hair was dishevelled and his clothing was covered in dust. He raised his hands to the sky crying in supplication saying, “O my Rabb, O my Rabb .” Whereas his food and drink intake are haram, his clothing is obtained from haram sources; his body is nourished with haram, so how can his du’as ever be answered?”

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1015)

Allah Bestows Din [Iman] Only To Those Whom He Loves 💎

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Allah bestows the worldly possessions of this Dunya to those whom He loves as well as those whom He does not love, but He only bestows Din/Iman to whom He loves”.

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 1 pg. 387 and Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 33)

🤲🏼 May Allah Ta’ala grant us the true understanding of the above, & make us from His chosen ones.
